Why We Need Syringe Filters In Pharmaceutical Field

Syringe filter is the Gateway to analysis systems which provide a protection!

The microporous filter membrane is created by coating a support layer with high-molecular-weight chemical materials and pore-forming additives after special treatment. It is mainly used for filtering the mobile phase and samples in chromatographic analysis, with its function manifested in the following two aspects:

1.Pharmaceutical Syringe Filters Protection of Chromatographic Columns and Liquid Phase Injection Systems

Chromatographic Columns: The small particles in solvents and samples can clog the chromatographic column and frits due to the extremely small interstitial spaces within the column, as the packing material particles are very fine.

Liquid Phase Injection Systems: Fine particles in solvents and samples can lead to clogging and wear of the injection valve, as well as increased wear on the sapphire piston rod and piston inside the pump.

2.Pharmaceutical Syringe Filters Elimination of the Impact of Contamination on Analytical Results

For commonly used UV detectors and diode array detectors, if the sample concentration is low, particles can cause significant noise, unstable baselines, infect normal signals, and affect detection results.

Here shows the difference performance of a sample unfiltered and filtered.
